Bim Eriksson (born in 1991) is a visual artist and storyteller with a multidisciplinary practice rooted in comics and drawing. Her work explores emotional complexity, identity, power structures and soft resistance — often balancing the playful with the unsettling.
Though rooted in the language of comics, her work also extends into sculpture, stage design, and animation.
Her latest graphic novel, Baby Blue (2021), is a dystopian thriller about a society that polices emotions. The book has been published in eight languages, including Swedish, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Turkish, English, and Portuguese. Baby Blue has been widely recognized for its bold aesthetic and political edge. The Italian edition was nominated for the Carlo Boscarato Award for Best International Artist.
Her comics and narrative works have been published in newspapers and magazines such as Le Monde diplomatique, Internazionale, Galago and BANG.
Comic work is largely solitary, but Bim values the energy that comes from working with others. She has a particular soft spot for music and enjoys collaborating with other artists across disciplines. Driven by curiosity, she often seeks out artistic residencies — not only to deepen her own practice, but to open up new ways of thinking and working. She works from the belief that 1 + 1 can equal 3, if the collaboration is the right match.
